Software
Again we're not really going for much here, but I'll run over all of the software I use for every aspect of the Mp3Car.
Operating System- Windows 95b. Reasoning? I know 9x. I don't feel like learning a new OS just to have a computer in my car. Also, I already have all the software I'd need to do this, not that there's much...but I don't want to have to track down a bunch of new stuff for this.
Mp3 Player- Winamp. Duh. The best that ever was or ever will be. I don't care if they ARE owned by AOL now. It's still the best.
Frontend- Cobra MP3 V1.60 The guy who wrote this program deserves more credit than I can ever give him. I actually wrote a program of my own with Visual Basic that did a lot of the stuff his does, but his is just GREAT. I've since abandoned mine and only use Cobra.
*Only Cobra should be used for a character LCD display. The Author of Cobra has written CobraII and CobraIII for people with little LCD display monitors.
